Consumers beware ---- Apple !

Hello all you Apple-Ly folks, from the desk of LMBTSI, we are reminding all our customers and followers to make sure they have their Apple computers configured with a local machine "admin" administrator account and or family member that can access their devices.

Here's why:

No matter what/who/why Apple WILL NOT provide access to a computer/device without the Apple ID user that registered that device and without proof of purchase and in case of deceased relative proof of death (certificate) to access them. "Due to Apple privacy policies" you agree to when purchasing the product. Furthermore, Apple now has taken steps to ensure, without high level technical intervention, replacing logic boards or de-soldering/re-soldering chips to either remove the user or upgrade a device, the consumer CANNOT maximize their purchase of a Apple product to extend it's life cycle and to ensure the consumer is forced into another/future Apple purchased product.

Pros:

"Company provided" end user security/proprietary product protections.

Cons:

Is this practice a "Green" friendly practice?? To create a product that can not be properly utilized for an extended life cycle only to end up in a tech junk heap??

Closing:

So as a consumer, beware of the pitfalls of marketing schemes and euphoric promises, (Cloud/Zero-Trust/AI/Easy to Use) they may not have the consumers best interest in mind. Especially when they are forcing an app on your phone to data mine your information to sell to a marketing company. A business model that is an appealing lifestyle, but negative technical and environmental impact. As a reminder, of course reach out to a technical professional (LMBTSI) for an opinion first (not your teenager tech rep) before you get into something you don't like, doesn't work the way you expected or just a general question, that will benefit you in the long run.
